Job Description
Nelson Christian School Society (NCSS) is a group of faith-based Christian schools out of
Nelson, B.C. CHEK ABC is our Online K-12 and adult school that serves students in both
online and home-education programs right across the province. This position is located in
our Central Office in nelson.
We are hiring a full-time (0.8 FTE) Manager of Curriculum and Resources to start June
2023. This position coordinates ordering, processing and shipping of resources/ curriculums
for both our Online and Brick-and-mortar schools.
The position is allocated approximately 30 hours per week, and includes enrollment in our
cost- shared group benefits program. Starting wage will be approximately $22.00-$23.00 per
hour.
The ideal candidate will be able to multitask, be well organized in time management and
coordinating processes, have up-to-date computer skills and be a team player. Minimum of
3 years-experience working in an office or library environment is required. Knowledge of
home education would be an asset.
Due to the cyclical nature in the education industry, the weekly hours will vary according to
the season, but will average out to 30 over the course of a year. Most hours will be
scheduled between Mondays-Thursdays, as our offices are closed on Fridays.

Job Description
CHEK ABC is a K-12 Provincial Online Learning School (POLS), providing fully accredited, faith-based education to students in BC.
CHEK ABC is currently looking for a BC-certified Online Humanities (English Language Arts and Social Studies) teacher for our Connect Middle School program, to teach Grades 6-9 students.
We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, and professional faith-based teacher to work in a home education context. Teachers in the Connect are responsible for implementing course curriculum, conducting weekly online classes, communicating regularly with students and parents, marking, and assessing student work, writing report cards, and the processes that accompany these tasks.
Work hours may vary, and salary is based on the number of students you are teaching.
Candidates need to have good interpersonal, communication, computer, and organization skills, be able to work independently and understand at-home education.
Having strong technical skills is also an asset. Knowledge of using online tools such as Brightspace LMS and Zoom is necessary for weekly classes. Training is available.
